Mission & Vision

The mission and vision of the Institute for Communication & Dignity form the core of our understanding of ourselves. They describe why the ICD exists, what we stand for and the future we seek to shape.

Mission

Our mission is to examine communication and social systems according to their function and their effects on people. We identify barriers and structural relationships and develop scientifically grounded solutions for clear, accessible and dignified communication and participation.

In doing so, we combine scientific analysis, institutional practice and human experience.

Guiding Principle

Communication is more than the transmission of information. It creates relationships, conveys knowledge, enables understanding and makes participation in society possible.

The human being is the point of reference. Human dignity is the boundary. The system is the tool.
